Man Struck by Car in Somers Dies

The man was directing traffic when he was struck by a car late Wednesday morning, according to state police.

SOMERS, CT - A man struck by a car on Route 190 Wednesday has succumbed to his injuries, NBC Connecticut reported.

State police told the station the man, Bret Colucci, 52, of Waterbury, was directing traffic at a work site on Main Street around 11:16 a.m. when he was hit by a car.

The driver of the car, a Toyota Camry, was identified by police as Chester Falkowski, 93, of Enfield, according to the Hartford Courant.

Colucci was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, then airlifted by LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital, where he died, according to police.
