Mental Wellness Check-In Fair To Open Dialog About Mental Health
The fair includes an obstacle course, therapy dogs, community murals, prizes, resource booths and more. Admission is free and open to all.
According to the World Health Organization, the prevalence of anxiety and depression has increased by a massive 25 percent during the Covid 19 pandemic.
In an effort to open the dialog about mental health, the Ellington Youth Services is holding a Mental-Wellness Check-In Fair for the entire community on Saturday, May 21st. This event takes place from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, located on Center School’s playground, Main St. All ages can participate in and benefit from activities that include an inflatable obstacle course, therapy dogs, community murals, prizes, resource booths and more.
Check In, a division of the Jordan Porco Foundation’s national Fresh Check Day program, is an uplifting mental health promotion program that creates an approachable atmosphere that fosters dialogue about mental health. It includes interactive expo booths, community resources, and prize incentives, with a focus on fun.
