SOMERS, CT — State police said a "minor medical episode" caused the driver of a flatbed truck to take out a utility pole on Billings Road.

The crash took place at 2:25 p.m. on July 25.

The driver, a 24-year-old from Vernon, was traveling west on Billings near the Ninth District Road intersection when the flatbed, owned by a local auto establishment, veered to the left and smashed the pole at at its base. according to a crash report.
