More College Accomplishments By Ellington/Somers Students: Spring 2023

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

American International College, Springfield MA

• Thomas Lafayette, Mallory Murdza and Sarah Thiel, all of Somers, were among 495 students named to the Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. Dean's List students attend full-time and have achieved a 3.3 to 4.0 GPA.

Cedarville University, Cedarville OH

• Luke Moffitt, from Ellington, graduated from Cedarville University in spring 2023 with an undergraduate degree in visual communication design.

Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

• Hofstra University congratulates three students from Ellington named to the spring 2023 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. They are Katherine Adams, a music business major; Grace Dubiel, a dance major, and Aadhya Lal, a physician assistant studies major. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• Michaela Daly of Ellington graduated with a degree in health sciences from James Madison University during commencement exercises in May 2023. Daly was among more than 4,200 students who received undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY

• On May 20, 2023, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute awarded a total of 1,988 degrees - 152 doctoral degrees, 390 master's degrees, and 1,446 bachelor's degrees - to 1,957 students, some of whom earned multiple degrees. Alexander Gervin of Ellington graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering, and Samantha West of Ellington graduated with a BS in computer science.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

• Ryan Rogers of Somers and Benjamin Lipman of Ellington were among nearly 1,000 students named to the spring 2023 Dean's List at Stonehill College. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.
