Motorcyclist in Ellington Crash Had No Helmet: Report
The man was listed in critical condition on Monday afternoon.

ELLINGTON, CT — The motorcyclist involved in a serious crash on Saturday on Main Street was not wearing a helmet, a state police report indicates.
The rider, 46-year-old John Haire, of Tolland, was listed in critical condition in Hartford Hospital early Monday afternoon.
The crash took place at 11:02 a.m., state police said. According to a report, Haire was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson Flhr westbound on Main Street near Church Street, according to a report.

A 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero driven by 65-year-old Mary Lusso, of Ellington, was making a left turn into the Town Hall parking lot and the Harley hit the front passenger side of the Saab, according to a report. Haire was thrown into the road and suffered what state police termed in a report as "serious head injuries."
He was airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

According to a report, there was a 2-year-old in a car seat in the back of the Saab, but no one in the car was hurt.
