New Assessor Officially Begins Work In Ellington

ELLINGTON, CT — A longtime assessment official for the town of Manchester officially began new duties Wednesday as the Ellington Town Assessor.

John Rainaldi, who spent 23 years in Manchester as deputy assessor and director of assessment, was unanimously appointed by the Board of Selectmen. He had been serving the town in a part-time capacity since Dec. 1, offering invaluable assistance in completing Ellington's 2022 Grand List prior to the Jan. 31 deadline.

Rainaldi said, "I am excited to join the town of Ellington. The town, its residents and the staff have been so welcoming, and it is an honor to be here."

"I couldn't be happier to have John join us," First Selectman Lori Spielman said. "He has extensive experience in all aspects of the job, including fieldwork, valuation, and exemptions, and he's going to be an incredible asset for us."
