Tom was a devoted music teacher at Timothy Edwards Middle School, South Windsor for 17 years. For the last 30 years he was a founding member and fearless leader of The Savage Brother’s Band. He enjoyed, more than anything in this world, spending time with his lovely daughters.
Whether enjoying the great outdoors camping, hiking or biking, traveling to Ireland or making music together, his life simply revolved around his three girls. In addition to his parents, he leaves three incredibly beautiful and talented children, Sarah, Claire and Kaitlyn Savage and their mother, Kimberly Savage; three brothers, Mark Savage and his wife Nadia of Durham, Steven Savage of Windsor Locks and Michael Savage of Enfield; a sister, Debra Savage of Windsor Locks; a niece Ava Savage, nephew Sean Savage and more friends than you could possibly imagine, especially his best friend Kevin Moriarty and his wife Amy. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in Ireland. His family would like to thank all of his Doctors, Nurses and staff at St. Francis Cancer Center for all their love and support.
We would also like to thank all of the teachers and students at Timothy Edwards Middle School (his TE Family) for all of their love and support for Tom, whether it would be concerts in his honor, or Christmas caroling at his home. They are an incredibly caring group of people. Tom was a very lucky man to have them all in his life. Exhibiting the strength and spirit of their father, Sarah, Claire, and Kaitlyn founded the charity fund, “Sing for Savage.” While Tom was receiving treatment, the girls donated thousands of dollars to cancer research in his name to St. Francis Cancer Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm St., Windsor Locks.
