Summer Palooza is coming to Somers and it is going to be an All American event. This year’s Palooza is dedicated to raising funds for Somers High School Jr. Alex Coverdill. Coverdill was recently selected to row for team USA U-18 and he will be traveling to Pittsburgh on June 18, 2014 to compete for a spot on the European tour scheduled for team USA this summer. Coverdill is currently ranked 10th in the world for his age group.
The event is scheduled for 6:30pm Saturday evening and it is being catered by Fran Sullivan of Somers. “We have planned an all American meal for this event” says Sullivan. Roast Beef with Mashed Potato’s and Gravy, Baked chicken, boneless spare ribs, Macaroni and cheese. A variety of salads including Potato salad, red white and blue fruit salad and crunchy Rainbow vegetable slaw as well as pasta primavera. Naturally as with every Sullivan event there will be hot and cold appetizers preceding the dinner and light sweets for dessert .
