Peaceful 'Rally For Black Lives' In Somers Draws Crowd [VIDEO]
Several hundred people gathered on Main Street in the heart of Somers to rally to honor people of color who have been victimized by police.

SOMERS, CT — A crowd of several hundred people gathered on all four corners of Main Street in the center of Somers Monday to peacefully rally "to honor all people of color who have died at the hands of the police," according to a notice from event organizers, which was posted in various social media forums.
Protesters around the country have been speaking out against the police violence in Minneapolis which recently resulted in the death of George Floyd. The names of several other people of color who have died while in police custody were chanted during the rally.
"The recent murder of George Floyd speaks to the rampant police brutality and systemic racism against black people in our nation, and this rally is to ensure that their voices are heard," organizers wrote on the event's Facebook page.
