Pellegrini Cruises to Primary Victory in Somers
Republican first selectman will again face the challenge of Linda Louise LaCasse in November.

Amassing nearly 73 percent of the vote, incumbent Lisa Pellegrini easily won the Republican nomination for first selectwoman over challenger Linda Louise LaCasse in a primary Wednesday.
Pellegrini, who is seeking her fourth term as first selectman, received 533 votes to 199 for LaCasse.
Pellegrini had been endorsed by the Somers Republican Town Committee at a caucus in July but LaCasse collected enough signatures to force the primary.

LaCasse will give it another shot in the Nov. 3 municipal election, running as a petitioning candidate on the ballot. The Democratic Town Committee did not submit a candidate for the position.
