Picture Ellington - Then And Now

ELLINGTON, CT — This periodic informal series highlights businesses from Ellington's past, and what those locations look like today. Today's offering remembers one of the longtime hot spots of dining in town: Pastori's Restaurant on Route 83.

Bill and Georgia Savvidis operated Pastori's at 87 West Road for 28 years. After encountering some difficulties, the eatery was featured during season 2 of "Restaurant Impossible" on the Food Network in 2011, but the restaurant ultimately closed for good on June 8, 2014.

In Aug. 2015, the Hidden Still moved into the building, and has thrived there since. Here is a more contemporary look at the property, courtesy of Google Maps.
