SOMERS, CT — Today we return to an outstanding photo book entitled Images of America: Somers, compiled in 2001 by the Somers Historical Society. Our latest peek inside the book takes us back a full century, to the former site of the Somers Creamery at 32 South Road.

Somers land records indicate the building was constructed in 1800. According to the book:

"It was operated by E.B. Little and later by a Mr. Cushman. Milk was collected locally and ice cream was made and transported by trolley to Enfield. The business was purchased by H.P. Hood & Company and moved to Springfield in 1925."

The creamery site is currently a private home, as seen here in this 2019 view from Google Maps.
