Pratt & Whitney Executive and Ellington Resident Named Chair of Aerospace Engine Supplier Quality Technical Committee

Daniel Eigenbrode, vice president of Supplier Quality at Pratt & Whitney, has been named chair of the G22 Aerospace Engine Supplier Quality (AESQ) Technical Committee. Comprised of major engine manufacturers and suppliers, the committee’s goal is to develop a harmonized set of quality standards for the engine supply chain. “I’m excited to lead the G22 Technical Committee and look forward to building on the committee’s successes over the past few years to further leverage supplier quality synergies among aerospace companies,” said Eigenbrode, a resident of Ellington. “Given the anticipated growth in aerospace, it’s critical that we align the industry’s quality standards and support the supply chain’s ability to meet customer commitments through improved capability and efficiency.”

The G22 Technical Committee members have seen success in the last three years, with four standards published and deployed to address problem solving, supplier self-release training, inspection frequency and measurement systems analysis. There are more teams currently working on process planning, supplier audits, sub-tier management and process control. With input from suppliers and regulatory agencies, the committee is making progress toward proposing a set of common, industry-wide standards that satisfy each member company’s quality requirements while removing variability and waste and enabling a leaner and more competitive aerospace supply chain.
