Primary Wednesday for Ellington First Selectman Candidates
The six-year Republican incumbent was defeated in his party's caucus, and will primary against the endorsed candidate.

Ellington Republicans will head to the polls Wednesday to determine their partyβs candidate for first selectman.
Three-term incumbent Maurice Blanchette, who was narrowly defeated for the nomination at the Republican caucus in July, is challenging selectwoman Lori Spielman, who became the partyβs endorsed candidate by a 31-28 vote.
Blanchette collected enough signatures to force a primary against Spielman.
