Homes in the area of Bridle Path Road were evacuated early Wednesday morning.

Just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, firefighters reported an underground propane tank rupture on Bridle Path Road in Somers.
Homes in the area are being evacuated and firefighters are requesting that power be shut off in the area.

The propane tank is reported to be a 1,000 pound tank.
The road is closed and gas officials are en route, according to WFSB.com.
