Public Invited to Live Solar Installation Event

Come see solar installed on Saturday, May 20th

Solarize Ellington will host a “live” installation of a residential solar system at 22 Windmill Rd on Saturday, May 20th from 10 am – 2 pm. The system will be installed by Earthlight Technologies as part of the Solarize Ellington campaign. Residents are invited to come see how a solar installation is completed. Earthlight Technologies will be on site to answer questions about the installation and the Solarize Ellington program.

Solarize Ellington is a State- and Town-sponsored program that encourages residents to “go solar” and enjoy the energy savings that come with installing solar. Earthlight Technologies, the solar installer selected for Ellington, offers significant discounts in exchange for outreach and education provided by the town. The town campaign just started on April 25th and already 48 Ellington homeowners have expressed interest in finding out if their home is good for solar.

“We are in the solar industry because we know what a good financial investment solar is for Connecticut homeowners,” said Tim and Sam Schneider, co-owners of Earthlight Technologies and Ellington residents. “That’s why we have solar on our own homes here in Ellington. We want to make going solar as easy for our neighbors as possible.”

For those who cannot make the live installation event, there will be a Solarize Ellington workshop at LuAnn’s Bakery at 238 Somers Rd on Wednesday, May 24th from 7:00 -8:30 pm. This is an opportunity for residents to learn about recent advancements in solar technology, the viability for solar in Connecticut, home compatibility, and meet Earthlight Technologies. Interested Ellington residents must sign a contract by August 31st, 2017 to qualify for Solarize Ellington pricing.

Residents can sign up for a free solar home assessment or find out more information about Solarize Ellington by visiting www.SolarizeCT.com/Ellington.
