Runners From Ellington And Somers Compete In Boston Marathon

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — A pair of runners from Ellington and one from Somers competed in the 2022 Boston Marathon Monday. Nearly 25,000 runners finished the marathon, including more than 350 from Connecticut.

Everett Hackett, 32, of Hartford was the top Connecticut runner in 50th place with an official time of 2:24:56. Laura Pierce, 40, of Woodbridge placed 127th among women and 2,251st overall with a time of 2:55:41, according to the Boston Athletic Association.

Ellington resident Matthew Piotrowski, 23, finished the 26.2-mile run in 2:57:11. Amy Paige, 52, of Ellington, completed the course in 3:49:46, while Scott Sutter of Somers ran the race in 5:50:21.
