Somers 2021 Election Results: Unofficial Vote Totals Posted

SOMERS, CT — The polls have closed in Somers and unofficial vote totals have been posted in several key races, including first selectman, selectmen, Board of Education and Board of Finance.

Republican Tim Keeney, who ran unopposed, is the new first selectman, replacing Bud Knorr who opted not to run for re-election. Republican Bill Meier and Democrat Robert Schmidt were eleced to the Board of Selectmen.

"I am grateful for the support I received tonight," Meier told Patch. "Our team looks forward to working collaboratively across boards to lead Somers forward."

Here are the unofficial vote totals; they become official when approved by the office of Secretary of the State Denise Merrill. Official results were not yet available as of 7 a.m. Wednesday, as a problem with a third-party vendor which manages election information for the secretary's website has prevented results from being displayed.
