Somers Basketball Defeats Windsor Locks

The Spartans won their 10th straight game on Friday evening.

The Somers High School girls' basketball team won its 10th straight game with a 67-47 victory over visiting Windsor Locks.

With Windsor Locks leading 10-9 halfway through the first period, Somers went on a 12-0 run, capped by Emma Panto's 3 point shot just inside the half court line to beat the buzzer to lead 21-10.

Diandra DaRosa's 12 second quarter points helped Somers to a 20 point lead at the half. The Spartans extended their lead to 65-38 with four minutes to go.

DaRosa finished with 25 points and also had 11 rebounds, seven steals, and seven assists to lead Somers. 

Kelsey Charette and Kathryn LaVallee each scored 10 for Somers. Panto added eight and Kylen O'Hearn and Hailee Stetson each added six in the win.

Amber Curran's 13 and Lee Ann Douglas' 12 points led Windsor Locks (6-9).

Somers (12-3) will travel to Stafford on Wednesday.
