Somers Boys Ranked in Top 15 of Lacrosse Poll

The preseason poll places the Spartans as one of only three northern Connecticut teams in the top 15.

SOMERS, CT — Looking to repeat as Class S boys lacrosse champions, Somers High School is ranked 13th in the preseason poll of coaches and media members.

Last spring, the top-seeded Spartans handily defeated No. 2 Waterford in the championship match, 19-5. They finished the season with a sparkling 19-1 record.

To no one's surprise, Darien received all 12 first-place votes. The Blue Wave have won 55 straight matches and finished last year as the top-ranked team in the nation.
