Somers Community Supports Ladies Aide Society
After a crash damaged the historic Ye Olde Blacksmith Shoppe, a GoFundMe page has been set up.

Early on June 7, a pickup truck crashed into the Ye Olde Blacksmith Shoppe in Somers, severely damaging the historic building.
According to police, the vehicle was going up Maple Street and instead of turning, went straight and into the building.
Now, a GoFundMe page has been set up in support of the Ladies Aid Society of the Congregational Church of Somersville, which rents the building at the corner of Pinney Road and Maple Street from the town.

The page states, that the crash has left the building “unusable for at least the rest of the 2015 Blacksmith Shoppe season and possibly longer.” It also states that much of the merchandise within the building has been irreparably damaged.
The Ladies Aid Society uses the building to sell donated goods in a continuous tag sale, opening every Saturday during May, June, September, and October.
