Traffic on Route 83 in Somers is being diverted due to a Wednesday morning accident in which a car struck a utility pole.
The crash happened at 8:37 a.m., when a northbound blue Ford Mustang struck the pole just south of Manse Hill Road, Somers Fire Lt. Glenn Reynolds said.
No injuries were reported. The driver of the car was not identified.

Crew members from Eversource arrived at the scene to replace the pole. Reynolds said the roadway would be closed for “approximately four hours.”
Detours have been set up at Avery and Durkee roads.
