The Somers Economic Development Commission has presented its seventh "Business of the Month" award, the award for May, to Somersvillage Gifts on Main Street in Somersville. The Commemoratrive plaque was presented by First Selectman Timothy Keeney to business owner Fred Romano. Somersvillage Gifts was nominated for its exemplary customer service and its innovative products.
Patrons from any community can nominate a Somers business for the award, based on such criteria as exemplary customer service, innovative products or services, professional staff development, donating money to a town project, sponsoring a youth project, or longevity in business. Sponsored by the Economic Development Commission, the award is presented monthly. Nominations can be submitted to EDCSomers@gmail.com or mailed to the EDC at 600 Main Street, Somers, CT 06071.
