SOMERS, CT - A Somers man has been accused of major sexual assault crimes for his actions with an 11-year-old girl, state police said.
David, Shira, 55, is due in R0ckville Superior Court on June 13 on charges that include first-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with someone younger than 16, fourth-degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a child, according to an arrest report.
He lives at 6 Pond Circle, Somers, according to state police records.

He surrendered May 27 at the Troop C barracks in Tolland, state police said.
State police aid they began investigating Shira after being contacted by the state Department of Children and Families. The child's mother, his girlfriend was told by her daughter that Shira had been making sexual advances, according to an arrest warrant.

He is accused of several incidents with the girl, according to an arrest warrant.
She had been experiencing anxiety over them, according to the warrant. The girl and her mom had moved in with Shira, according to the warrant.
