Somers Man Charged With Stealing, Forging Checks From His Mother

He cashed the checks with a female friend, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — A Somers man is facing a second-degree forgery after he took checks from his mother, wrote them out and cashed them with a friend, according to an arrest warrant.

Michael Taylor, 25, was arrested on a warrant Friday, state police said.

He was also charged with sixth-degree larceny for the march incident, according to an arrest warrant. He is due in court on Nov. 2, state police said.

His mother approached police about the checks on a few occasions in March, according to the warrant. The checks were cashed with a female friend, according to the warrant.

State police said the checks were cashed at four Webster Bank locations:

  • $40 at Park Street, Hartford
  • $60 at Hazard Avenue, Enfield
  • $60 Main Street, Somers
  • $40 North Street, East Windsor

Webster Bank helped state police with the investigation, according to the warrant.

Taylor is from Winwood Circle, Somers, state police said.
