Somers Obituary: Andrew Kwasnik, 84

Andrew F. Kwasnik, 84, of Somers, loving husband of Frances J. (Tetreault) Kwasnik entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Andrew was born June 6, 1931, in Monson, MA the son of the late Andrew F. and Elizabeth (Sudol) Kwasnik. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and retired from Combustion Engineering. Andrew enjoyed spending time in Maine, tending to his garden, golfing, the comradery he found with his friends while hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family who he loved dearly. He was a member of the Polish Club in Monson.

In addition to his wife, Frances he is also survived by six children, Nancy Davis and her partner, Paul, Stephen Kwasnik, Cynthia Fontanella and her husband, Joel, Eric Kwasnik and his wife, Kimberly, Brian Kwasnik and his wife, Darby and Michael “Woody” Gabriel; a brother, Stanley Kwasnik; two sisters, Helen MacKenzie, Nellie Westwater; six grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kristen, Nathan, Rachel, Justine and Matt and several nieces and nephews. Andrew was predeceased by a sister, Mary Magdalene and a brother, Joseph Kwasnik.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, October 16, 2015, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., (Route 190) Somers. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson, MA.
