Somers Obituary: Lois Galbraith, 90

Condolences to her family and friends.

Lois Y. Galbraith, 90, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, died Aug. 5, 2015.

She was born and raised in Stafford Springs and was a graduate of Stafford High School and the University of Connecticut in 1947. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She moved to California in 1950. Lois worked for telecommunication companies until her retirement in 1980. She was always interested in sports and spent her retirement years playing golf with a variety of women’s golf groups. She loved crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with family and friends. Lois also enjoyed traveling all over the world. Lois was a wonderful sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and a friend.

She is survived by a niece, Lois Galbraith and her husband, Martin Dennis, of Somers; four nephews, William J. Galbraith and his wife, Renee, Leslie Ransom and his wife, Wendy and Peter Ransom of East Hartland, and Daniel Ransom of Montrose, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Betty Galbraith Lindsey; and a very dear family that adopted her into their family into California, and Susan Buller and her husband, Brad, and Paul Bogardus and his wife, Lila, and their children.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3:30 p.m. at Somers Baptist Church, 40 Battle St., Somers. Burial will be at the family’s convenience.
