
Louis J. "Lou" Dobek, 75, of Somers, loving husband to Donna (Larose) Dobek entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, August 12, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital.
Louis was born February 9, 1941, in Springfield, MA the son of the late Louis and Anna (Harasik) Dobek. In his youth he enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball and playing baseball. He was a member of the Somers Knights of Columbus Council 4303 Somers. Lou was a faithful and active member of All Saints Church where he was a collector of the offerings. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 43 years where he was employed as a Mechanical Engineer.
Lou was the epitome of the family man, he loved his family and cherished time spent with them and always made sure they were taken care of.

In addition to his wife, Donna who would have celebrated 53 years of marital bliss in September he is also survived by their two children, Bruce Dobek and his wife, Sundee of Somerville, SC and Kathy Gero of Enfield; four grandchildren, Brett Dobek and his wife, Whitney; Bryan Dobek, Austin and Taylor Gero; a great granddaughter, Rory Dobek; three sisters, Alice Crate of Westfield, MA, Jane Belleville and her husband, Richard of Indian Orchard, MA and Mildred Latimer and her husband, William of East Springfield, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., (Route 190) Somers, CT. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home at 9 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at All Saints Church in Somersville. Burial will follow in Somers Center Cemetery.
