Somers Parents Complain About Loss of Bus Service
A school bus route has eliminated traveling on an unpaved road.
Residents of an unpaved street in Somers are angry about a decision by school officials to discontinue bus service on their road.
Three families which live on County Road were affected by the change, and they came to Monday night’s school board meeting to protest the decision, according to the Journal Inquirer.
The decision came about as a result of a minor accident in February, when a school bus slid off the roadway in snowy conditions. Despite the continuation of service for the remainder of the 2014-15 school year with a shorter bus, the street was dropped from the bus route for this year.
