Somers Republican First Selectman Primary Vote Totals Released

SOMERS, CT — Incumbent Republican First Selectman Bud Knorr easily outdistanced challenging candidate Linda Louise Lacasse by a 3-to-1 margin in a primary Tuesday.

Knorr collected 437 votes, or 75.74 percent, to 140 for Lacasse.

Just over 29 percent of the town's 1,983 registered Republicans cast ballots, as 577 GOP members headed to the polls.

Knorr is completing his first full term as first selectman, a post to which he was appointed in spring 2017 following the resignation of Lisa Pellegrini.

Lacasse came up short as a petitioning candidate the last three years, unsuccessfully seeking the offices of 52nd District state representative (2016 and 2018) and first selectman and board of selectmen (both 2017).

The two will meet again in November, with Knorr the endorsed Republican candidate and Lacasse again running as a petitioning candidate. They will be joined on the ballot by Democrat Stephen Krasinski and petitioning candidate Ann Logan.
