Somers Resident Earns Athletic Honors at Loomis Chaffee

John Furlong was presented with the most improved award for boys' swimming.

The Loomis Chaffee School Athletics Department gathered recently with varsity student athletes, their parents, and coaches, to celebrate the accomplishments of Pelican teams this winter. Director of Athletics Bob Howe and other members of the Athletics Department bestowed honors upon Pelican athletes for their participation and dedication to varsity teams.

John Furlong, a sophomore from Somers, was presented with the Most Improved Player for Boys Swimming.

The Loomis Chaffee School, located in historic Windsor, Connecticut, is an internationally recognized college preparatory school for grades 9-12 that fosters critical thinking and a global perspective in talented students from around the state, the country and the world. Since 1914, the school has offered educational opportunities for boys and girls regardless of religious or political beliefs, national origin, or financial resources. The school's 670 students represent 35 countries and 28 U.S. states.
