Somers Tax Rate Remains Flat For Third Straight Year
The mill rate of 27.37 remains intact for the third consecutive fiscal year, aided by a growth in the net grand list.

SOMERS, CT — Assisted by a spike in revenue of more than $275,000 due to a net grand list bump of $10.1 million, Somers residents will be assessed a 2020-21 mill rate equal to the previous two fiscal years.
The Board of Finance approved keeping the mill rate flat during its town budget approval process. The mill rate of 27.37 equates to $1 of tax for every $1,000 of assessed property value.
The overall town budget was approved at just under $35 million, with 70.6 percent of that total allotted for the Board of Education. The school board's budget of just under $24.7 million is an increase of 3.37 percent from 2019-20.
