Somers Town Hall To Host Free DAV Veterans Benefits Seminar
The Disabled American Veterans says national service officers will offer free claims and appeals support in Somers later this month.

SOMERS, CT — A free veterans benefits seminar is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, t Somers Town Hall, where Disabled American Veterans will offer information and support on benefits, claims and appeals.
The seminar is set for 9 a.m. to noon at Somers Town Hall, 600 Main St.
According to the DAV, the nonprofit charity provides lifetime support for veterans of all generations and their families and helps more than 1 million veterans each year.

The DAV said one of its no-cost services is its Information Seminar program. The organization said the seminars are offered across the country to help veterans and their families obtain services and benefits they have earned.
According to the DAV, the Somers event will be staffed by DAV national service officers. The organization said its information seminars provide professional support throughout the claims and appeals process.

Veterans attending the seminar should bring identification, their Social Security number and any other pertinent documentation regarding their military service, according to DAV. DAV also said membership is not required to use the free services offered at the seminar.
