Spartans Lose Lead But Not Game
The Somers High School boys basketball team let a large lead slip away but managed to hold onto the game.

The boys basketball team let a 14-point lead slip away but managed to hold on for a 61-55 victory over visiting Canton on Friday night.
The Spartans found themselves down by one midway through the fourth quarter but Conor O'Grady tied the game with a free throw and Jayce Haynes scored a field goal to give Somers a lead it never surrendered.
Josh Fredette led the way for Somers with 17 points and nine rebounds and Jayce Haynes added 14 points. Evan Woicik added 13 points and eight rebounds and Josh Patsun scored 12 points for the Spartans.

Chad Huff had 17 points for Canton (8-9).
Somers (10-4) hosts Enfield on Monday.
