School Bus, Tractor-Trailer Sustain Minor Damage In Somers Crash
State police said children were on board the bus, but no injuries were reported.
SOMERS, CT — A school bus carrying children was involved in a minor crash with a tractor-trailer Wednesday afternoon along Shaker Road near the Enfield town line, according to Connecticut State Police Troop C.
Troopers said the bus was traveling southbound on Feb.25 on Shaker Road at about 30 miles per hour while the tractor-trailer was heading northbound at roughly the same speed.
Due to snow along the shoulder, the roadway had narrowed, Troop C reported. At some point, the driver-side mirrors of the bus and the tractor-trailer made contact, causing minor damage to both vehicles.
