State Police Investigating Pole Strike

State police are seeking the public’s help in identifying an unknown vehicle that struck and snapped a utility pole near Crystal Lake in Ellington Sunday afternoon.

Troopers were called at 4:53 p.m. Sunday with a report of an evading motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Buff Cap Road and Sandy Beach Road (Route 140). Upon arrival, police found the pole had been snapped in half. No description of the vehicle was provided.

Anyone with knowledge of the incident is asked to call Trooper Brindiana Warenda at State Police Troop C at 860-875-1522.
