State Police Investigating Truck Light Thefts
Lights have also been stolen off police vehicles in for service, state police said.

Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime unit are investigating what they termed "multiple burglaries and larcenies" that have occurred since 2013 at various state Department of Transportation facilities located throughout eastern Connecticut, state police said.
Most of the incidents involved "forced entry into secured fencing equipment areas," state police said. Once entry is gained multiple LED truck lights, are removed, state police said.
The lights stolen include over-the-cab and body lighting from dump trucks stationed at the facilities, state police said.

Detectives also found that, during the time period, LED lights were also removed from police vehicles and additional DOT trucks being serviced at a Ford dealership in Putnam, state police said.
State police said anyone caught would face burglary and larceny charges.
