State Police: Man Charged for Raping Young Girl in Ellington
He was arrested and charged on Thursday, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — A 53-year-old Hartford man is in custody on a half-million-dollar bond for what state police are calling the habitual raping of a young girl.
Wesley Sutherland, of Hartford, was arrested on Thursday, state police said. He was charged with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree unlawful restraint and risk of injury to a child, according to an abridged version of an arrest warrant, most of which has been sealed by the court.
Sutherland was picked up at 12:16 p.m. on Thursday by the Hartford Police Department Fugitive Task Force, according to an arrest report.

The woman lived in Ellington between 2004 and 2007, according to a warrant.
Sutherland is accused of raping her daughter on an almost daily basis when the girl was between 7 and 9 years old, according to a warrant.

The warrant described Sutherland as being aggressive toward the girl.
