State Police Release New Information on Sun Valley Campground Fire

Four mobile homes were burning when firefighters arrived at the scene.

STAFFORD, CT — State police said on Monday that the mobile homes/trailers that burned on a Sunday night fire at the Sun Valley Campground were unoccupied at the time of the incident.

State police also said no injuries were reported.

The fires broke out at Sun Valley Campground at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night, state police said.

The campground is located at 51 Old Springfield Road in Stafford and draws people from all over the region.

Tolland County 911 said that four "mobile home RV trailers" were involved and a fifth was being threatened.
The fire was contained at 11:23 p.m., according to Tolland County 911.

In addition to Stafford companies, Tolland firefighters responded with both of their 3,000-gallon tankers.

Tolland fire officials said brush fires also broke out at the campground.
