State Police Tracking Not-So-Stylish Getaway Cars in Somers
Thieves stole smokes from a Somers gas station, state police said.
SOMERS, CT — State police are seeking information about a burglary at a Sunoco station in Somers.
On Saturday at approximately 5:40 a.m., the Sunoco gas station located at 169 Main Street in Somers was forcibly entered by someone who smashed the front glass door, state police said.
Once inside two individuals utilized large cardboard boxes to load "a significant amount of tobacco products," state police said.

The thieves used two vehicles to drive away, but not necessarily in style — a grey extra cab Ford Ranger with a dented front chrome bumper and a tan late '90s Toyota Camry with a sunroof that was missing the front driver's side hub cap, state police said.
State police released surveillance images of the vehicles.

Anyone with information regarding the location of these vehicles or the identity of the individuals involved is encouraged to contact Troop C-Tolland at 860-896-3200 or text TIP711 plus the information to 274637. All calls will remain confidential, state police said.
