State Trooper Involved in Ellington DUI Crash Allowed into Alcohol Education Program

Christopher Powers was involved in an off-duty drunk driving accident in Ellington this past August.

A state trooper involved in an off-duty drunk driving accident was allowed into a program that could wipe the incident from his record.

Superior Court judge Rupal Shah allowed State Trooper Christopher Powers, 42, into the alcohol education program in Rockville court Tuesday, the Hartford Courant reports.

If Powers completes the program his charges of driving while under the influence and failure to drive right would be dismissed come October 2015.
