Strawberry Festival to Delight Visitors at Ellington Farmers Market

Fresh strawberry shortcakes, loads of strawberry products, Kids Power of Produce Club, and Live Music at Ellington's Market Park-50 vendors!

The annual Strawberry Festival at the Ellington Farmers Market is set to delight visitors this Saturday, June 15th, from 9 AM to noon. Held at Market Park, located at 72 Maple Street, this beloved event promises a morning filled with delicious treats, live music, and community spirit.

Festival goers can indulge in freshly baked strawberry shortcakes from Luann's Bakery & Cafe, as well as a variety of unique strawberry-themed baked goods, prepared foods, and even body products. Jams, pies, muffins, tiramisu, strawberry fudge, scones, soaps, and lip balms are just some of the items that will be featured.

Of particular note, the sales from any of the eight varieties of Grams Jams will support the Farmers Feeding Families program, which doubles the Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits for low-income seniors and WIC recipients.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Kelsey Kaplan Duo will provide live music throughout the event. Attendees can also enjoy a delicious Mexican street fare-inspired brunch served by No Coast Kitchen, offering a unique culinary experience.

Kids Power of Produce Club which empowers children to make healthy food choices, has begun. Kids ages 5-12 can sample strawberries, participate in an activity, and receive a $3 voucher to purchase fresh produce of their choice

To further support community members, the market will double SNAP and FMNP vouchers at the market booth. This initiative allows low-income shoppers to maximize their spending power and enjoy more fresh, local produce.
