Support Somers Firefighters Through Annual Memorial Golf Tournament

The Somers Volunteer Fire Department Association is seeking sponsors for its 40th annual William T. Bouchelle Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament.

SOMERS, CT — The Somers Volunteer Fire Department Association is looking for sponsors for its 40th annual William T. Bouchelle Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, scheduled for May 13, 2026.

The tournament is the association’s main fundraising event each year.

According to the Somers Fire Department, sponsors can participate by purchasing a golf flag featuring their name or business name. That flag will be displayed during the tournament and then given to the sponsor afterward.

Sponsors also have the option to buy a tee box sign in addition to the flag. The department said sponsor names will also appear on the electronic sign at the firehouse for three days as part of its thank-you.

The fee for a flag is $150. The fee for a flag and sign package is $300.

The department said money raised through the tournament helps cover costs not included in the town budget. Those expenses include operational equipment, dress uniforms for parades and funerals, service awards, firehouse furniture and similar needs.

People interested in becoming a sponsor can do so through the event registration link shared by the department. Sponsorships can also be submitted by check to the Somers Fire Department Association, Attn. Golf Committee, along with wording for the flag or sign.
