Suspect in Somers Burglary Facing Multiple Counts of Selling Stolen Jewelry

She and an accomplice have already been charged in connection with a series of burglaries in Somers this past summer.

An Enfield teenager was charged Monday on warrants alleging she sold jewelry that had been stolen during home burglaries on three occasions in the last months.

Lauren Norris, 19, of 8 Lois Lane, is charged with two counts of third-degree larceny and a single count of fourth-degree larceny.

The three cases for which Norris is charged are as follows, according to Police Chief Carl Sferrazza:

  • Nov. 3, 2014 - jewelry was stolen during a house burglary on Howard Street; Norris sold this jewelry to People’s Pawn and Jewelry Co. in Springfield;
  • July 29, 2015 - jewelry was stolen during a house burglary at an undisclosed Enfield location; Norris sold this jewelry to Gem Jewelry on Palomba Drive;
  • Aug. 4, 2015 - jewelry was stolen during a house burglary on Parsons Road; Norris sold this jewelry to Furnari Jewelers in the Enfield Square.

Bond was set at $60,000 total, which was reduced to $15,000 during her arraignment Monday in Enfield Superior Court.

Police are still investigating each of those home burglaries, Sferrazza said.

Norris is also facing charges in Rockville Superior Court stemming from her Dec. 20 arrest alleging involvement in a home burglary in Somers. She is charged with third-degree criminal trespass and criminal attempt to commit fifth-degree larceny in that case, and is free on $50,000 bond.

Her accomplice in that case, Brett Vincent of Enfield, is charged with breaking into as many as nine homes during a burglary spree in Somers last summer.

Norris is scheduled to return to court in Rockville on Feb. 2, and in Enfield on Feb. 16.
