Sweet Valentine's Day Celebrated at the Somers Annual Valentine's Day Dance and Party
The place was swinging and swaying with all the children playing during the activity-packed party at Somers Elementary School.
The day may have been cold and snowy white outside, but it was red hot in the cafeteria as children from the community gathered to participate in an activity-packed day at the Somers Annual Valentine's Day Dance and Party sponsored by the and the Somers PTA on Saturday.
The cafeteria was jumping, swing and swaying with children as the most popular music played and they danced together.
Afterward, some watched the wizardry of magician, David Garrity from “Magic and Beyond: The Illusions of David Garrity.”

Garrity delighted the children by making sunglasses appear in a flash of fire, a table float mysteriously through the air, and objects materialize and vanish. He also made hula hoops perform Hawaiian magic and sawed one audience member in two.
Other children enjoyed a quiet moment with their parents while making homemade Valentines.

"This is the sixth year for this event," said Human Services Director Jenifer Charette. "It takes a well-working collaboration between the members of the Somers PTA and all their wonderful volunteers to make this day happen for the children. If not for all the hard work and kind contributions from them, this day just would not be."
