Tough Stretch for Local Boys Basketball Teams

Both the Ellington and Somers boys basketball teams lost their last game and are looking to get back on track on Friday.

The boys basketball team dug itself a hole it couldn't get out of on Thursday against host SMSA.

The Knights fell 55-54.

Ellington coach Don Flint said his team came out with no intensity in the first half and dug a hole that it couldn't get of in the second half.

He added that while it was cold shooting night for Dan Schofer, Schofer's defense and rebounding was the only part of the Ellington game that was consistent.

Ellington (8-6) hosts Windsor Locks on Friday.

Somers

The boys basketball team fell to host Windsor Locks 46-39 on Wednesday.

Evan Woicik had 16 points for Somers and Jayce Haynes had 11.

Somers (9-4) hosts Canton on Friday.
