Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Pot-Laced Rice Krispies Treats: State Police
Cash was also confiscated after the stop, state police said.
STAFFORD, CT — A motor vehicle stop on Route 190 on Saturday led to the discovery of Rice Krispies treats laced with a primary by-product of marijuana, state police said.
As as a result, a man is facing a bag full of criminal charges, state police said.
While on patrol, a resident state trooper assigned to the town of Stafford observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 190 in the area of Cooper Lane, according to an arrest report.

The vehicle's rear license plate light was not illuminated, and the vehicle swerved over the center line, according to an arrest report.
A motor vehicle stop was conducted, and a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle, state police said.

Nicholas Joren, 19, admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana, which he surrendered to the trooper, according to an arrest report.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and the trooper found evidence of "narcotics distribution," state police said.
A backpack containing about 5.6 ounces of suspected marijuana packaged for sale as well as a 10 THC-laced rice crispy treats was discovered, along with approximately $4,000.00 in cash, state police said.
Joren was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to sell
- Possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana
- Failure to illuminate rear registration plates
- Failure to drive right
State police released a booking mug shot of Joren and the cash and drugs confiscated.
He was issued a $10,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 12, state police said.
