Troop C Arrest Log: Man Arrested for Domestic Violence in Somers

The latest state police arrests.

Here are the latest local arrests log entries at the state police Troop C barracks:

June 24

TOLLAND, CT - Kathleen Marek, 45, of 104 Furnace Ave, Stafford, was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and sixth-degree larceny, state police said. She tried to steal $72.88 worth of products from the local Big Y supermarket, state police said.

SOMERS, CT - Stephen Saletnik, 28, of 7 Tabor Road, Enfield, was charged with risk of injury to s child, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and second-degree unlawful restraint, according to an arrest report.

Saletnik surrendered to Enfield police after learning that a warrant had been issued for his arrest and he was transferred to Troop C, state police said.

The warrant was issued for a May 18 incident, state police said. A day later a trooper was called to a home in Somers, where a woman said she had been beaten up. She then showed a trooper bruises on her arms and lip and said Saletnik assaulted her in from of her children, according to the warrant.

He is also accused of pushing her to the ground, then getting on top of her and applying a choke hold, according to the warrant.

The children told troopers they witnessed domestic violence, according to the warrant.

State police said Saletnik has has five prior arrests over the past decade on charges that include driving under the influence, resisting arrest, burglary and larceny, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT - Michael Vincent Hopkins, 21, of 95 Weed Hill Road, Stamford, was charged with driving under the influence at 1:17 a.m., state police said. He was involved in a crash

on Stafford Road, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT - Ronald Blyden, 39, of 8 Montgomery Lane, Norwich, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct at 11:49 p.m., state police said. He was involved in a domestic violence incident, state police said.

June 25

TOLLAND, CT - At about 12:50 p.m., state police responded to a North River Road residence to investigate a burglary report, according to the log. Someone broke into a home and stole $500 cash, state police said. The case is being investigated, Anyone who may have information on the case is asked to call Troop C at 860-896-3200.

WILLINGTON, CT - A Tolland woman - 44-year-old Heather Steadward, of 123 Reed Road, was charged with driving under the influence and evading responsibility at 1:57 a.m., after a crash at the American Eagle Saloon, state police said. She left the scene and police tracked her down, according to an arrest report.

June 26

VERNON, CT - Perri Nicholson, 32, of 183 Arnoldale Road, West Hartford, was charged with registration violations, driving under the influence, failure to drive at a reasonable distance and driving without a license at 10:08 p.m. on Interstate-84, state police said. Troopers located him after a call warning them about an erratic driver, according to an arrest report. Troopers saw him tailgating another vehicle near exit 66, according to an arrest report.
