Aug. 6

ELLINGTON/TOLLAND, CT — A Vernon Man is facing several charges for his antics in Tolland on Aug, 6, state police said. Kyle Nadeau, 24, of Vernon, was observed passing another vehicle in a no passing zone on a motorcycle on Ellington Avenue at 2:10 p.m., state police said. Nadeau sped away and a trooper chased him but then broke away from the pursuit, state police said. The bike was located on Pinnacle Road in Tolland, state police said. Nadeau was charged with engaging police in a pursuit, passing on a no passing zone, operating a motorcycle without an endorsement and registration and insurance violations, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A Tolland woman is facing a disorderly conduct charge for a domestic incident in November in which she allegedly hit a man over the head with a broomstick, breaking it state police said. Stacey Laplante, 41, of Tolland, was arrested on a warrant, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — Hariel Figueroa, an inmate at Osbrorn Correctional Facility, was charged with being an accessory to convey an unauthorized item into a prison for an incident in January, state police said. Lucia Figueroa, 49, of Hartford, was charged with that crime, the actual conveyance and the illegal sale of drugs for the incident, state police said.

Aug. 1

ASHFORD, CT — A Mansfield Man was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and breach of peace for an incident at the Nott Highway Post Office in June, state police said. The man, 33-year-old Ethan Tuchman, of Mansfield, entered the post office and became agitated over what type of packaging material was for sale. He at first refused to sign a refund receipt, then marked it with an X and then began waving his arms and knocked over a cup of tea, which he then picked up and spilled all over a counter, according to an arrest warrant.
