MANSFIELD, CT — A man living in the regional shelter has been charged with third-degree burglary after being caught breaking in to cars, state police said.. Jarred Stets, 18, was observed burglarizing a car in a driveway on pleasant Valley Road, state police said. His listed address is the No-Freeze Shelter in Willimantic.

TOLLAND, CT — Christine Olander, 50, of Arnold Drive, Tolland, was charged with disorderly conduct after an altercation at her home, according to an arrest report. It was part of a domestic altercation, state police said. She is due in court on Dec. 5, according to an arrest report.

Nov. 21

MANSFIELD, CT — Keith Spinney, 30, of Plainfield, was charged with the criminal violation of a restraining order after visiting a home on Sawmill Brook Lane, state police said. The "victim" in the case, a 27-year-old, invited him to the home and he went there, despite the court order against doing to, according to an arrest report.

VERNON, CT — State police said to expect a concentrated holiday traffic enforcement from Vernon to the Massachusetts line on Interstate-94 through the weekend. Troopers will be looking for impaired drivers and traffic violations, according to a news release.

Nov. 22

MANSFIELD, CT — State police said a police dog had to track down a domestic violence suspect after an altercation at a local apartment complex. Taylor Alfeld, 25, of Foster Drive, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault and is due in court on Nov. 27, according to an arrest report. He ran from the apartment after the altercation was called in and had to be tracked down by police dog Ugo, according to an arrest report.

SOMERS, CT — State police are looking for a bandit who made off with a pit bike. The small motor bike was stolen on Franklin Woods Drive, state police said. It was in an unlocked garage, according to a report. It was stolen some time between 5 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 8:04 a.m. on Nov. 22, state police said. Anyone who may have seen the thief can call state police at 860-749-4955.

Nov. 23

MANSFIELD, CT — A Windham woman was pulled over for going very slow at 1:14 a.m. on Stafford Road and wound up with a drunken driving charge. Sherry Larned, 51, was also charged with a lane violation, according to an arrest report. She was driving slowly and erratically and was pulled over, state police said.
